Bridge Across The River Tees

The Tees Transporter Bridge was completed in 1911 and designed by the Cleveland Bridge Co which heralds from my home town (although I moved away a fair while ago now). Cleveland Bridge has since merged with another famous local company (Dormon Long) who are responsible for building the Tyne and Syndey Harbour Bridges amongst others.

Surprisingly, this is the first time I've been to see the bridge which always fascinated me as a kid. Vehicles and people are transported across the River Tees in a gondola suspended from the bridge.
