oh I do like to be beside the seaside...

A quick trip to the in-laws today for the traditional post-Christmas meet'n'feed which was very nice. The weather left a little to be desired (gale force winds and lashing rain) and with a 200 mile round trip drive I'm a bit tired now.

The west coast, while being very beautiful, also has it's fair share of terrible weather. Today the tide was high, there was a brisk westerly and so most of the beach ended up on the prom. Great fun to stand out it in! The ferry was moored on the inner side of the pier and seemed to have its thrusters going to stop it being blown onto the slip.

We also stopped at a rather specialist shop on GWR in Glasgow on the way to Largs, all will be revealed in due course...
