Moth eaten!

This is a huge moth's nest! These nests, or tents as they are called, are built by Processionary moths with are causing havoc with the pine trees near us.

When the caterpillars leave the tent, in single file, they systematically eat all the needles off the tree, sometimes even killing the tree.

Here you can see some of the trees, in today's beautiful afternoon light, that haven't yet been eaten.

Yes, I know, I talk about trees a lot; I'm obsessed with them:-)
