three girls and a chain saw

Off this morning on a crisp blue day to collect a few days wood supply to see us into the new year. A huge pile of green oak...not as in green unseasoned but green as in chene vert or yeuse here in Occitan country. What a pretty tree with christmas green holly type leaves and acorns and an absolute cracker in a fire..though as I write this there is a smoky pall in the room. Too busy chatting and not enough fire watching!
