New carpet

Morning off work so we could be up early to get the remaining furniture out into the garden ready for the new carpet to be fitted. Of course, it had to snow while we were doing it! Luckily we'd bought a huge tarpaulin to cover the settee and chairs while they were outside.

Carpet fitters did their stuff in no time. Our measurements were OK (thank goodness!) and the colour did match our newly painted walls (and husband likes it).

Furniture back in, doors back on hinges, shower and then off to office Christmas meal in town.

Lovely meal, good company and great atmosphere. No speeches this year (apart from an impromptu replacement one from L in the pub afterwards). Can't quite believe how fast Christmas is approaching....
