Garden guests

These two chaps wondered into the garden this morning as I was washing-up gazing out the window. Taking care not to startle them I managed to get some reasonable close-ups of them as they strutted around just outside the window. This was taken through the conservatory window.

We are fortunate in that the garden opens onto fields behind the house and we do get quite an assortment of animals visiting. We have had deer and on one occasion a very valuable racehorse unseated its rider and galloped until it reached our garden where it fortunately did not jump our hedge. I very bravely managed to catch its bridle until a breathless and very grateful rider appeared behind it in the field.

I took Jen and Matthew back to London this afternoon. I shall miss them both. The M11 was remarkably quiet on both journeys although on my return home it absolutely poured with rain.
