Fáilte gu Alba, Faoi Deireadh
Well this was a welcome relief. We drove from Ireland today (getting up at 4 am to catch the ferry) and came through Wales then England instead of our usual route through via Belfast and Stranrear.
Due to our evening with friends last night (see yesterday's blip) our organisation wasn't what it might be and we left with no map, having instead a Google Maps print out - never again! We were meant to take the M6 up the West coast of England but instead ended up in Hull on the M62. This was somehow in our print out.
Nevertheless, the old smart phone mobile did come to the rescue and we Google Mapped our way out of there, only a mere three hours later. Oh well, some of the landscape was a bit like looking at a Lowry painting and I've never seen chimneys and power stations quite like it.
My son is on the right, in the darkness. When we stopped to take the photo he jumped out of the car to be the first in Scotland.
Not bad to be in Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland all in one day.
