Grand

This statue, known as The Worker was created by Ron Moll.
He stands by the gates which were the entrance to Leyland Motors in Leyland, Lancashire.

From this town came the famous Leyland trucks, buses and even tanks, providing work for thousands of men and women over the years.

The inspiration supposedly came from a photograph taken in the late 1920's of workers leaving the former North Works site after a hard days work. Since the statue arrived in the spring of this year two attempts have been made to steal him.

How sad is that.
