The Undisputed Champ

Getting up at 5.50 on Boxing Day, driving 200 miles and getting stuck in a nightmare traffic jam on the M25 might not be everybody's idea of Christmas bliss. But when you're there at Kempton Park seeing history made, none of that matters.

Kauto Star won his fifth King George (mid-season steeplechase championship race) at 3.10. This has never been done before. He received considerable vocal support from me and Nick. Here he is in the parade ring before racing, with the much-revered Ruby Walsh in the saddle.

Christmas came twice this year!
