there is no such thing as failure . . . . .

a few weeks ago, I learned that an application I'd made to a certain photographic organisation had been unsuccessful. last wednesday they sent my feedback - most of the images were too dark, with not enough detail in the shadows. imagine my surprise therefore when I opened my post today to discover one of my dark images was chosen as the front cover for their quarterly magazine - without my knowledge, reminding me of an old friend telling me once, 'there is no such thing as failure, only feedback . . . '

ho hum . . . if I had the energy, I'd be laughing
