Thistle Down

Mistakes

My body is a fragile thing,
And in its time...it takes.
Some time to change it now and then,
And correct it for mistakes.

Mistakes are common to us,
We want them all forgiven.
If they are not erased from us,
We can not go to heaven.

We wish we did not have them,
And that they had never been.
That they will pass away with ease,
And never come again.

I sorrow at their coming,
And grieve for every one.
And they bear me ever downward,
By the things that I have done.

Each person has his weaknesses,
And sadness does belong.
To take him from a charted path,
Where decisions come out wrong.
