....tradition......

these words -on a wall belonging to Oswestry School- were first painted in the 1850's as a memorial to a boy who was killed on his way home at the end of term.

Each year the Head Boy and Head Girl + youngest pupil still maintain the tradition of repainting 'the words'.....

on this last day of the year it seems an appropriate blip....many different traditions all around the world will mark this LAST DAY of 2011.....I will bake oliebollen....and bought sparklers for our grandkids who sleep over....

but just imagine if it really was the last day we had.......what would we do with it.....??

Thanks to all my blip friends....may the changing of the year be a memorable event...what privilege to have a whole new year ahead....a clean book.....

Happy New Year folk!!!!
