...trying to wash away........
So as the rain tipples out of the sky and washes away 2011 it's time to look back on the year.
These are my highlights and lows.....how about you? I've got a blip for all of them if you want to look back.
January14th: Lowest point of all...our colleague....my friend Geoff passes away suddenly...total shock and devastation.
February 18th: At the second attempt Dad gets his carpal tunnel operation done. He says it hasn't made a difference....but he certainly doesn't drop his knife and fork any more.!
March 11th: The news of the Japanese earthquake/tsunami shocks us all.
April 28th: My sister gets the news from her cancer op....everything is clear...huge relief all round.
May 15th: The absolute high spot of not just the year but the century so far...the arrival of our Grand-daughter Charlotte Florence...even if it did cost me £20 in the fishing match!
June 3rd: Farce of the year...HMRC send me a four page letter explaining why we will not be getting any tax credits this year (we never have!) including an invoice for £0.00!
July 29th: The S & H's birthday....but the big news was our friend Vicki's retirement and the little party we had for her.
August 18th/19th: The sight of our cities in turmoil as rioters and looters took to the streets.
September 26th: A new addition to my lab....a huge 4x3m Hubble photograph of Galaxy cluster M101.
October 26th: The whole family struck down by the worst case of Montezuma's Revenege we've ever encountered.
November 13th-19th: My friends from Siberia come to spend a week at school with us.
December: There has to be two for this month
5th: My sister gets the final all clear from her consultant.
25th: Charlotte's first Christmas.
....and of course the real highlight....spending time with you all...sharing my life with you and sharing yours...making new friends...smiling and laughing with you all.
