Today's news...

The Scotsman carried a piece this morning about my 365 consecutive blips ,with a whole range of examples in the print edition. So many thanks to them and the Blipfoto team for making it happen. Now on to the next landmark - my 500th in a months time.

Yet as someone who will have been in the SNP for 38 years this spring (time passes !) I enjoyed another story in the media today even more - the party's membership has passed the 20,000 mark for the first time for many years.

When I was Chief Executive (between 1994 and 1999) it was much smaller so congratulations to Peter Murrell and all his team for driving the numbers up and making the SNP the largest political party in Scotland.

Lets hope 20,000 is just the start. After all having one of these would make a very good way of welcoming in the New Year. As would joining Blipfoto and deciding to try and post every day for twelve months .
