Vertical garden - and grapes

Mooching round the city centre en route to the library to get some new books
(How to Save Your Own Life by Erica Jong and David Carter's Stonewall: the riots that sparked the gay revolution) before meeting up with the folks down at Occupy Norwich for the final general assembly of the year I noticed that there seemed to be something growing up the side wall of the Marks & Spencers department store.

It was this. It looks real, but I didn't feel able to ask a tall person if I could stand on their shoulders to check. I showed the pic to Roland and he immediately said 'Vertical garden. It's supposed to make companies feel better about their carbon footprint'. So there you go.

The Spanish 'Indignados' are celebrating today and calling for 2012; the year of rescue. They are asking peopleto come to Sol (the square where it all started) at 11pm, to allow for a traditional celebration at midnight, wearing sun yellow instead of carrying placards and to eat 15 (in reocognition of May 15th when the Occupation of 'La puerta del Sol' stated) grapes instead of the traditional 12 - for a bit more info check out this link..

I think we've got enough grapes left. I just need to dig out my yellow t-shirt as eating grapes at 11pm at home sounds infinitely better than being in some crowded hell hole.

Farewell 2011 and let's see what 2012 has in store for us all.
