Baileys and Home Made Cake

Last day of 2011 has been busy. Well, both me and hubby fighting for space in the kitchen to bake our masterpieces(!) Me a Viccy Sponge with jam and buttercream filling and him a more testing Tarte Tatin Normandy, well something like that it's by Raymond Blanc . . . .. and he even made the pastry from scratch.

I also made lentil soup though, tradition for 1st day of the year, along with steak pie and all the trimmings. I like the New Year dinner, so simple to prepare unlike Christmas Day.

So, sat down now with a baileys on ice watching Alan Carr. In days gone by, I would have been out by now, drinking, having fun with friends, staying out all night. How times change . . . .
