Final day of 2011

For once this month the clouds looked more threatening than they really were. Only took a couple of pictures all day - the smallest number since entering blipland - so not much choice.

Spent quite a lot of time today enjoying listening to music. Yesterday my first purchase of MP3 downloads rather than CDs. Bortkiewicz, Hummel and Scharwenka, chamber and piano music, very pleased.

There is an up side to the recent loss of our close family friend. My brother in Chicago rushed to book a flight which arrives in Manchester tomorrow morning. I won't be seeing in the New Year because I'll be setting off just after 6 am to pick him up. At least the roads should be clear. He can stay through to the 18th, which is great for all the family. He last managed to come when Dad was in hospital 18 months ago. It will be so good to see you, Alister!
