Fireworks from behind a hill
We partied, we danced, we (I) craned our necks around the hill through the flyscreen to see the fireworks, we danced a little more, we celebrated. It's a brand new year. It'll bring new things, it'll bring old things, there'll be good bits, bad bits, mediocre bits, but most of all, it'll be a year of my life, and I have every intention of making the most of every moment. And that's just me, who knows what the world will see this year. Will it be as eventful as 2011, or as quiet as that year no one quite remembers? Frankly, after last year the latter would be welcome. So a toast, to personal eventfulness and global quietness.
Good book, hammock, sunshine, crickets chirping, the after-rain smell? Sounds like I'm being called to make the most of a Sunday afternoon in the best of laziness.
Friday - Summer Days
Saturday - Ending on a High
What settings do you use for fireworks? My old P5100 has an excellent fireworks preset, but I can't quite replicate it on my D5000. Of course, shooting through a flyscreen adds a certain ... texture ... to the shot, but I'd love to know how you set up your camera - I can't work out where to start with it!
