Woodpigeon

First of all Happy New Year! I wish everyone a safe, happy and prosperous 2012. It's a gorgeous day out there today so I took the opportunity to nip outside and get some photos. This Woodpigeon happened to land on the seat and fixed me with a beady yellow-eyed stare before taking off and landing on the roof of a house nearby. The bird of the day today though has to be this little Tree Sparrow who was hanging round with a group of larger and more well-known House Sparrows (it's not the best of photos so I'll regard it as a 'record' shot only).

We have a few relatives coming round later on this afternoon for a meal and a catch-up so looking forward to that.
