Lake Hawea

After a knee injury seven months ago, I went for my first road bike ride early this morning. A stunning day again in Wanaka, I had to go early before it heated up too much. We then spend most of the day in nearby Lake Hawea. Blistering temperatures in the low/mid thirties (celsius) meant there was nothign for it but to swim in the lake, right where this photo was taken. Then returned to the holiday house in Wanaka and finally brief kayak on Lake Wanaka at 9pm.
