Today morning headed to one small resort near Oulu that is famous from its ability to get plenty of snow to the fairly nice backcountry area it has. As our 13 year old god son H was also visiting us took him with me to try the offpiste for the first time.

The conditions were nice as the resorts forest area had received almost 40cm of new snow during few days and perhaps 15-20cms overall. Also everything was almost intact as the most freeskiers were having longer holiday on some bigger resort etc. So there we were lined up among the first before the lifts were open.

The freeride area and the pillowlines built to the forest at the backcountry were really nice and we had a change to put the first tracks to many places. Of course further we skied more it took time to get back to the resort area and the lifts.

Usually H enjoys more park skiing but it seemed that he might also be tempted to do more freeriding in future ;) Atleast he did not have time to hit the park at all as we were doing fresk tracks the whole day long..
