The tomatoes have arrived.
Today we got our first red tomatoes. It's amazing what two or three sunny days will do, so it looks like we've got something right. I'm going to leave them on the vine for as long as I can to let them sweeten up. The temptation is to pick them as soon as you can, then your always disappointed. We've not got a huge crop this year but it looks like we'll be eating them from next week until September.
Tomorrow will see the start of leek planting out. The seedlings have reached the regulation 'pencil thickness' which makes them easier to handle, so they'll be going into their permanent bed for picking in mid winter.
We're now eating produce from the garden on most days - French Beans, cucumbers, salads and courgettes. so far, with aubergine, peppers and sweet corn still to come.
