New Years Day 2012
@ the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens
It has sort of become tradition for us to spend New Years day at the gardens. It is the best way to relax and pretty much do nothing. I had my Kindle, blanket and pillows and just enjoyed lying on the grass reading, listening to the waterfall and the gentle breeze moving through the trees. It was heaven until the boys started going at each other. I tried really hard to pretend they were not there. Oops...but they made sure I did. Growl - one day they will enjoy the peace and tranquility, alternatively they will wish for it when they have their own little ones driving them nuts!!
The tortoise stole the show upon our arrival. He had no problems popping out of his shell and being photographed. I take it he likes star status. Cute guy!!
Not only did we picnic but we popped by the restaurant in the Gardens for a quick breakfast - that was the hangover sorted. :D
On our way out, I just had to pop by the Butterfly garden and managed to capture this beauty.
I hope you had a wonderful New Years. I saw it in from the safety of bed and the radio blasting Auld Lang Syne. Thanks Jacaranda. :D
Happy New Year - may it be everything you hope for and more...
