Rich reward at the end of a marathon travel day

New Years day and we bade farewell to our fellow trekkers who will all head back to their respective homes. It was a truly magnificient trek with probably more adventure than even i had bargained for.

Our journey began with a windy flight to Nequen in the far north of Patagonia. We then boarded a bus for the marathon journey back south down to Bariloche. Bariloche is in the home of the Argentinian lakes district and we will spend a week here hoping to do plenty of day hikes and touring.

The scenery on the bus ride was initially pretty uneventful with flat plains for the first 4 hours out of Nequen. Then things went up a notch or three with a superb sunset and a dusk full of pinks, oranges and yellows.
