The glass, it over floweth

Playing around with the tripod, flash (just the camera's) and a wine glass in the sink. This shot is of the water as it flows down around the stem.

Has anyone got any tips/links for using a flash? I was getting a lot of 'blue' highlights that seemed way more overexposed than the rest of the image. Really annoying.
