Kangeiko - day 1
Today was the first day of Kangeiko and my last day of vacation. This means that I was up at 4:50 to make it on time - so much for sleeping in! Man was I stiff this morning!
Kangeiko is a special week-long, morning karate class the first week of the year. It is designed to re-dedicate yourself to karate. I quite enjoy it, which is saying a lot since I hate getting up early. There was a pretty good turn out today - and quite a few kids too. We will see who sticks it out for the whole week. My goal this year is to be on-time for all 5 classes. Third year, and I still haven't done that. I was close last year until a surprise snow-storm mucked up my drive in.
Generally the last drill we do is done towards the windows, just as the sun is starting to shade the sky. It is quite good for the relaxation in the morning. With that in mind, here is a shot taken just outside the dojo (with my new gorilla pod propped on my car - thanks mom!) shortly after class ended.
