The Orkney Ba

Delayed one day because New Years Day fell on a Sunday. The Christmas Day Ba (held on Boxing Day) was won by the Uppies.
This was the start of the Ba when the ball was launched from outside St Magnus Cathedral.
We secured a terrific vantage point on top of the wall, so close to the action that at one time I got barged out of the way by one of the 'players'. Don't think there are many rules and saw plenty of scuffles break out. In the couple of hours we were watching the play only moved up and down about 100 metres.
Not sure whether the Uppies or the Doonies won todays contest as these games may go one for hours and as it was so cold we went home for hot soup & a thaw out. Great fun though.
