walk by the pond

We had some time after dinner tonight to go for a walk by our neighborhood pond. The evening was beautiful. The temperature has cooled, the humidity has moved out and the sunset was amazing.

This is a baby Killdeer. We spotted him and his family running around the edges of the pond. I'm continually amazed by these little ponds in our neighborhood. They are always full of wildlife. In addition to the Killdeer family we saw ducks and ducklings, frogs, fish and Cedar Waxwings.
