A sign of the times
There was a time when the city of Norwich could boast a different church for every Sunday of the year and a different pub for every day of the year but not any more. There are still many fine medieval churches in the city but most are now redundant. However as this photograph shows some redundant churches are being put to alternative uses which at least preserves these wonderful buildings. This sign is outside the church of St Michael Coslany (St Miles) which dates from the 13th century. Until recently it housed "Inspire" a hands-on science exhibition for children but I think that the building must have become unsafe as Inspire moved out and the builders moved in. The builders have now completed the necessary works and a new tenant is being sought.
