Leave This All To Yesterday.....

At 4 am this morning, I bounced out of bed with superhuman strength and launched my arm thru the blinds and grabbed hold of the window which was trying to escape the confines of the house.

Hurrican Bawbags Bigger Brother had hit, with absolutely no warning.

We lay in bed, and dosed; jolted asleep each time a bin fell over, or the letter box exploded, or the tiles on the roof rattled. The Cats were going crazy. Fighting in a ball of fluff back and forward over the room, snarling and squeaking at each other.

The electricty went off at 5; causing an outbreak of alarms up and down the street - and did the same again when it came back on five minutes later.

When we got up, it appeared calmer. I stepped out the back to check for damage. All the Recycling Bins were over. The black glass bin was gone; that in itself being quite amazing, since it had a vacuum cleaner sitting in it. The cleaner was sitting upright in the middle of the garden.

By lunchtime, we had all got up, dressed, removed any evidence of Christmas and beloved and me headed out to the Skip to dispose of unwanted boxes.

A trip to the harbour had to be included and I can't tell you how frustrating it is now that our little harbour is closed off to public. The weekends and evenings I spent down there as a child - and I'm talking under 14, sitting on the wall, watching the waves bounce back and forward, and waving to the boats coming in and out of the harbour.

You can't do that any more. You can stand by the Wee Hurrie - an exclusive Fish and Chip shop, and gaze towards the lighthouse - but it is separated from view by 3 wire fences, and today the frame of a gazebo? You just don't get that whole being absorbed in the harbour feel anymore.

So we went round to the far side of the harbour and watched the waves crash against the outside of the harbour wall. It was difficult to stay upright, and I was focused on trying to capture a brilliant shot, like Pink Twinkles BOOM, but no such luck.

After a minute I turned round, to discover myself all alone on the little inlet. Beloved had disappeared. I looked towards the car... no sign, I looked out to sea, I couldn't see his red jacket. I was just about to go into panic mode, when I spotted this little doorway!

And when I ran along towards it, he was standing inside, pissing himself laughing! Damn you beloved!
