You are assessed for street repairs

Woke up this morning to find the wild gales weren't a dream; the skylight had been wrenched from the roof, showering glass down over the front of the house - including my car. And later, the wind blew a chimney pot down, which shattered spectacularly in the road. What fun.

After a few power cuts and surges, the kids had temporarily abandoned the Playstation and computer in favour of a game of Monopoly. Though I declined their kind offer of a pre-breakfast game.
