Not in my memory

Compared to hurricane Bawbag on 8th December, today was a bit more extreme. At eyes opening time, I could hear the wind was strong outside, and then at 8am the Met Office upgraded their alert status to RED. Plans for the morning were binned as we listened to the radio traffic reports of bridges, motorways and railways closed.

The drive to Linlithgow along the back roads was interesting; a fair few fallen trees to negotiate, several garden fences in places they shouldn't be. The remarkable thing was the age of the trees, not flimsy saplings, these were big trunks of many years' growth.

In the afternoon things were back to normal with driving sleet and gusting squalls between blue sky. So we walked around Linlithgow Loch. This is a shot looking back to the Palace in the gloaming.
