The Day I Got Windswept
What wind today. Lost a couple of fence panels and the house next door is empty so I'm not sure who should repair them. In the past we went 50/5o. I might just leave them hanging to put people off buying it.
This morning's walk was quite quick on the way there with the wind on my back and very slow and painful on the way back with the wind blowing sand in my face. Half way back and it started pouring down. So much so that my trousers and pants got soaked through. It's an unnatural feeling walking with your nether regions frozen.
This was the best I could do photography wise. I am always amazed at how relatively calm the bay can be when the wind is coming from the west.
In the news: Stephen Lawrence. Some justice at last for his poor family.
On the lighter side: Lots of talk about dieting. I found this obscure story about Lord Byron. His diet consisted of "existing on biscuits and soda water or potatoes drenched in vinegar, he wore woolly layers to sweat off the pounds and measured himself obsessively. Then he binged on huge meals, finishing off with a necessarily large dose of magnesia." I guess a story from 1822 isn't technically news :-)
