Why buy a new sofa?

To make a fort out of it, of course! One sofa, one blanket, six chairs and voila! You have yourself a fort! And then crawl into the fort and read a book or two. :-)

Yesterday Husband Dear drove with Uncle Dave to Atlanta (5 hours), dropped him off at the used car dealer, went to IKEA and bought a sofa while Uncle Dave bought a car, had lunch with Uncle Dave, and drove home (5 hours). The sofa stuck out of the car leaving Husband Dear a bit cold while driving.

This sofa is the first "grown up" piece of furniture we have ever owned. It is covered with leather as we are slowly transitioning to non-dust-capturing surfaces in the house due to prevalent allergies. It feels weird to own a "real" sofa and not a college-age futon doubling as a place for a friend to crash. We have a real guest bed for those now, too. :-)
