Carmen Reservoir
It's New Year's Eve and I find myself pondering how to celebrate the upcoming new year. It did not take me long to decide I should hike out in the wilderness. Off I went to Carmen Reservoir where I intended to hike on the opposite site of Sahalie Falls and up to Clear Lake.
Arriving at my destination, I encountered 4-6 inches of snow. It was easy enough to hike through and Prise, my pup, was absolutely delighted to play in the snow even though I made her wear her snow jacket and boots. Upon reaching Clear Lake, we were met with even more snow. We hiked one mile in approximately 12 inches of snow before I decided to turn back; it was simply too difficult without snow shoes. Despite our hike being cut short (we hiked 8 miles roundtrip), we had a lovely time.
I selected this photo of Carmen Reservoir as my blip because it reflects calmness and serenity.
