Look out, below!

The wind had largely subsided this morning, although the grey clouds were still hanging around, so we took a drive up to Hoveringham to see if we could catch sight of the great white egret that has been seen there over the last week. We saw eleven little egrets, but the biggie seems to have gone with the winds.

I was watching a few swans come in to land, snapped a couple and was surprised to find I also had a pair of pochards and what looks like a scaup in the foreground. Nature is full of surprises ... and nearly always nice ones.
