Small Stones

A River of Stones. Day 4.

A vicious sandstorm whips along the beach leaving stones naked and exposed.
They sit proud on the shore waiting for the tide to cover them up again.

We went to Braunton Burrows today which is 'One of the world's most special places,' according to the sign, and walked down the board walk to Crow Point where we got well and truly whipped and sandblasted. I love it there and found the weather created quite an eerie untame feel to the place today. It's weird to see stones and shells sticking out instead of nestling in the sand. The sea was so churned up that the foam was washing up like milky coffee and I actually found myself making a milky frothy coffee as soon as I got home.

I'm finding combining a small stone with a blip quite difficult. They use 2 different parts of my thinking - which I am surprised to discover.
If I get a chance I might separate them and put my small stone observations in another place.

I'll come back in a bit and put a link to all today's photos on a facebook album.
