The Cake

Fred has made the Christmas cake for this year. I had the honour of giving it its first wee brandy this evening. It's going to be soooooo alcoholic by December.

It's been a dreich day today. I headed out to the food shop, but that was it for outings. It's been a day of getting down to some serious work.

Fred cooked a mean nut roast this evening. Strangely, he couldn't find any nut roast recipes in the gazillion vegetarian cookbooks we own so he found one online. I guess the cookbooks shy away from it since it's the cliché veggie recipe. Even Delia didn't have one!

For the record, I do cook, too, but Fred's winning this year. He's super-organised.

I found these rules for female cyclists via a twitter friend. They're hilarious. Next time I'm on the bicycle I will try not be a fright and I certainly won't try on my brother's clothes "to see how it feels".
