The End of an Era

Today we said goodbye to a wonderful friend we've known since 1947. She and her hubby started coming to our church and all immediately fell in love with them. I was just a kid still in school. We watched their children growing up, then they watched as hubby and I got married and later started our family. LaVenna was a Sunday School teacher and worked in Women's Ministries. The time has come for them to move to Washington to be close to their son and his family. They are moving into an Assisted Living facility. They are excited about their move, but will miss all their friends in Oregon. You will see LaVenna in the front with another dear friend Barbara. Then there is daughter Annie, "grammapat", friend Sharon, niece Janet and daughter Debbie. It was a very special time. We were sad for "us" but very happy for her and her hubby.
