Make-a-wish-Cross

This cross stands at the entrance to our road. It is part of an old Way of the Cross that leads through the village and ends on the colline behind our house. The damage on it is not due to vandalism: It is a wish cross.
To make a wish, you take a pebble that lies in one of the cavities at its socle, then you knock it on the basement (hence the cavities) - one knock for every year of age - and make your wish. It will be fulfilled - unless you have been cheating with your age...
