First Day Back

This is what a day at school did to Al after days of staying home and doing nothing more taxing than wandering about in Bushey Park and playing Hobbit: The Board Game.

There was excitement at school as some trees had been blown down, or about, and made unsafe or something, and the Year Three base was closed. Al had to have lessons in the abandoned Year Six classrooms which he enjoyed. He also told me that there is no soap or working sink or hand dryer in the Year Five Boys loos. How disgusting. And annoying as no doubt they will all get their annual lecture about the Noro virus and handwashing in about a week. His friend said that the Year Five Girls loos are the same.

A huge tree came down in the road that crosses ours and was across the street when I came back from dropping Al off. The wind kept me awake half the night.

Betsy and Al were both glad to be back at school. Sue popped in for coffee and I was glad as Chris was out and the house seemed deathly quiet after the past couple of weeks.
