Antlers
Started messing around with the central picture, but then added the other two to put it in a bit of context. This skeleton of a Giant Deer was discovered on the Isle of Man in 1819 and brought to Edinburgh by the Duke of Atholl (that would be fourth duke, sometime Grand Master of both the masonic Grand Lodges of Scotland and England and also known as 'Planter John' for his pioneering work in planting trees across his estates). It was gifted to the University of Edinburgh in 1821 and the keeper of the University collections, Robert Jameson, sent a sketch of the skeleton to the French zoologist, Georges Cuvier. Cuvier published it in his book, Ossemens Fossiles in 1823 and went on to demonstrate that animals had become extinct. This Giant deer skeleton is c12,300 years old.
