Heart of Ice

Something about these rocks and ice with the bubbling flow of the water made me think of a heart of stone and ice beating inside an icy chest.

Today while coming back from dropping the kids off I saw that the stream along side the road had lots of little ice shelves along it. The sky was also overcast so the light was nice and even so I knew it would be a good day to head down to Schooleys Mountain park and get some shots on the rocks in the water.

After clambering over the rocks for a while taking shots using the tripod I headed down to the waterfalls, but I had taken too long on the rocks the clouds all went and the bright warm sun came out. While the sun was nice and warm it also spoiled my chances of getting any decent shots at the waterfall as the sun through the trees always makes a harsh bright and dark contrasty mess for photos.

Oh well... I'll just have to go back another day :-)
