Under Our Divide

The Interstate 5 in Seattle divided the city in half when it was built - it received federal funding in 1957 - and is generally accepted as a "normal" feature of the city. But I look at old maps that depict this stretch of land without it as well as many other busy thoroughfares. I walk under it to the other half of the divided city often 4 times a day. The division is striking as is is the 24/7 high levels of noise.

Nonetheless, evening light coming through the columns is lovely.
