Govan Lyceum Cinema
This art deco building has been a landmark in the Govan area for many years.
The Lyceum cinema was opened in 1938 on the site previously occupied by the Theatre and Music Hall which opened in 1899 and burnt down in 1937.
In 1964 it was split to house both a cinema and bingo. The cinema part closed in 1981 but it continued as a Bingo Hall until 2006.
The current owners are hopeful of one day restoring it to its former glory.
An artwork project involving the artist Sam Bates has recently taken place using the giant billboards. An intersting video about it can be seen here.
