Not a very promising start to the day weather-wise. Damp and misty and incredibly windy. Ollie and I went to see our neighbour, who's not feeling very well just now, and we had a good blowy walk. The barley in the fields round about was swaying and swirling around, making beautiful patterns.

Was a nothing sort of a day so pootled about in the greenhouse, tidying up, dead heading, watering and feeding. The tomatoes are coming, but very slowly and still very green. We just need a bit of sun. What has happened to the summer? Ollie and I settled down in the greenhouse, listening to the radio and me doing a bit of sock knitting!

Later on the day brightened and dried up a bit. I managed to get some more of the grass cut, but, like the Forth Road Bridge, now the bit I did first needs cutting again! The farm were going to start their second cut of silage today, but didn't because the forecast is for yet more rain to come! Oh, joy!
