The King of Cakes

The 6th of January marks the 12th anniversary of our arrival in Brussels, so I decided it would be a good day for my first Blip entry. The Belgians celebrate the Epiphany with a puff pastry and frangipane cake known as the Galette des Rois or the Driekoningentaart if you want the Dutch version (French and Dutch being the capital's two official languages). According to tradition, whoever finds the hidden trinket in their slice of cake becomes king or queen for the day. Caketastic!!
