It bears fruit...
If you walk into Edinburgh's Saughton Skatepark, the entrance is flanked by two unassuming trees. If you turn around and look up, you find a brilliant wee tradition that started more or less as soon as the skatepark opened not much more than a year ago.
The trees bear the fruits of hundreds of end of life pairs of shoes that have been tied together and slung into the branches.
I don't know who or how it started but every time I go there's more pairs of shoes up there. When my shoes get assigned to the rubbish heap, I know exactly where I'm disposing of them.
