La fête des rois

The tradition in France on la fête des rois (feast of the Epiphany) is to share a galette des rois with friends.

Each galette has a tiny ceramic figure (the fève - don't break a tooth!) and the lucky person who finds it in their piece gets to wear the paper crown that comes with the galette and be the king/queen of dinner.

We've been lucky enough to sample a few galettes over the holidays and have gathered a bizarre collection of fèves :
- Milou (Tintin's dog)
- A pretty multicoloured cat we call "the Merp"
- and a bizarre thing we can't identify that looks like a stick of butter with a knife in it.

I think we may be lucky enough to have our last galette for the season tomorrow with some good friends coming over for dinner. Bonne fête des rois!
