wild geese that fly with the moon on their wing...

I decided to walk back from shopping today along the coastal path nature trail. I think it should take about an hour......took me about two!! ;o) Saw a few rabbits, a beautiful robin and an egret that was a little too far away even with a bit of cropping. On the way out this morning one of the fields was full of geese feeding. On the way home they all flew overhead and landed in the water......thousands of them. The photos of them en mass didn't do the image justice - was an amazing sight. I watched them for ages and they all started taking off and heading back to the fields. When I got home I tried to lure the birds onto the bird bath with some treats round the edge. Camera all set up with remote control.....I'm in the kitchen waiting.........nothing - apart from a blackbird which almost had a heart attack when I took the photo. Gave up as it got a bit dark so came in to look at the day's photos. Not my best haul but a great day....and a nice long walk!
